These batteries are perfectly suitable for non-clansman radio use as their operating voltage of 14v is ideal for a normal radio operation. I have personally used these batteries to power amateur radios for days worth of mobile operation, as have my friends with amateur radio and CB equiptment. A number of these batteries can be connected in parallel to act for longer use such as in a caravan for a holiday. The scope for these batteries includes many uses besides their original intention. The batteries come housed in a number of difference shells including some serviceable casings with rivets. The MOD had these batteries spec'd to 30years operation, they are made out of reliable Ni-CD cells and can be easily recharged with a standard universal 12v charger operating in the 0.1 - 1.5amp range. Many will require the terminals cleaning before charging. Charging requirements can be better explained over the phone if you are unsure. If you have any questions please contact Denis @ 07866 389974
