    • Well, Google's 'advertising optimization' has now become so distracting as to trick people into visiting other sites. So I have removed advertising until I can find a better solution. One option may be sponsorship, anyone interested?
  • Sponsorship!

Adventurer Modulator manual compliments of Gary Schafer, K4FMX

adventurermod:

A. MODIFICATION OF ADVENTURER. Refer to figures 1, 2, and 5 in
    the ADVENTURER instruction manual.

    1. ( ) Remove fourteen #6 sheet metal screws around the edge
of the Adventurer front panel. Remove four #6 sheet
metal screws just outside the two large cutouts on the
rear of the Adventurer cabinet. Remove cabinet from
             Adventurer.

    2. ( ) Remove R11, 20,000 ohm 10 watt wire wound resistor
(Figure 5 in Adventurer Instruction Manual) from
terminal 2 of the terminal strip X6 and pin 2 of
socket X2. Leave 3/8" leads on R11 and save it for
use in Modulator kit. Resolder terminal 2 of X6.

    3. ( ) Cut an 8" length of #20 red plastic covered wire.
Strip ends 5/16". Connect this lead from pin 6 of
octal socket X4 (on the rear of the chassis) to pin
2 of 807 socket X2. Train this lead from X4 along
the chassis toward X3, then between terminal strip
X6 and 807 socket X2, passing under a single read
lead, Y35, near the #5 end of X6, then up to pin 2
             of X2 (S). Solder at pin 6 of X4.

    4. ( ) Inspect wiring in areas just modified for soldering
and possible shorts. Replace cabinet on Adventurer.
