Jordan,

I tested my ME-505D resistance modes last night with a GR decade resistance box. Some ranges are within half a needle width of right on.. Other ranges are a bit off. Most likely drifted resistors. Needle indicates high.. That means that the resistor has become low.. I can add some in series. I will check the ohms circuit to make sure my reasoning is right.

I can't remember ever seeing a loose RF probe for these. You could build one, perhaps in a scope probe housing. If you do, note that there is a dropping resistor in the thing to bring about the RMS calibration from the CD voltage developed in a peak detector.

If anyone has one of these and needs a manual, I think I have a copy
here. I also have a manual for the TS-505 VTVM mentioned in the R-390
repair and alignment procedures.

Roy,

Can I get the TS-505 manual from you? I have 3 of those meters an am
looking to getting them back on the bench.

Could we get a copy of the manual scanned into a PFD and included on a CD
or online download?

Thanks

Roy,

That is where these two manuals that are zipped together came from!

Ok good. I was just saying that there are actually three manuals.

TM 11-5511.pdf is "Electronic Multimeter TS-505/U"
I think your zipped file does not include this one.
Thnis manual has operating instructions and field maintenance instructions.

TM 11-6625-239-12.pdf
is the file you call 018850.pdf
This one does have operation instructions in it and organizational maintenence instructions.

 OPERATOR'S AND ORGANIZATIONAL
MAINTENANCE MANUAL
ELECTRONIC MULTIMETERS TS-505A/U
AND TS-505B/U AND MULTIMETERS
TS-505C/U AND TS-505D/U

TM11-6625-239-34P
is: what you call 018851.pdf
It's a parts list.

DIRECT SUPPORT AND GENERAL SUPPORT MAINTENANCE
REPAIR PARTS AND SPECIAL TOOLS LISTS (INCLUDING
DEPOT MAINTENANCE REPAIR PARTS AND SPECIAL TOOLS)
ELECTRONIC MULTIMETERS TS-505A/U,
TS-505B/U; MULTIMETERS TS-505C/U, and TS-505D/U

Roy,

I just received a message today that came from Australia. A Darren Crush, working for Raytheon, has one of these being used in support of the Australian Defense Force. He requested the manuals.

I think it is sort of neat that these are STILL being used in the current time-frame.

Obviously I replied and sent ALL the manuals to him.
